Re: Initiator: Schimmelpfennig
dear students,
As your evaluation of the intergrated course "Intenational Finance" are quite negative International Office decided to take actions to solve this problem. We would like to invite you to take part in the developement of one particular course unit to your satisfacion. In order to avaid any needless bureacracy I will organize a brainstorming session on Dec 5 at 6 p.m. and invite all interested student to attend. We will jointly decide which course unit should be changed and collect some ideas in which direction these changes should go. In case of non-attendence we will be grateful for any useful input by email or snail mail by Dec 5. Unfortunately, we can not assure you that your suggestion will be taked under considaration by your lecturer but I assure you that we will do our best to convince him to adjust the course to your liking.
kind regards,
Brain Schimmelpfennig

Re: Initiator: Schimmelpfennig
Dear Brian,
thanks for your quick reply. I appreciate that you consider the reframing of the course "International Finance". However, many of my student colleagues and I don`t think that brainstorming and slightly redirecting the course will solve the issue since the problem lays within the topic of the course itself. "International Finance" is in itself an imperialistic term which adopts the language of Euro- and US-centric world view which isn`t by any means "international". We would appreciate if the inernational coordinators would life up to the title of their position and change the content of the courses accordingly - including their titles. Please come back to me as soon as possibe. I am looking forward hearing from you.
kind regards,
Paulo Cohelo
